The first inhabitants appeared in the new rehabilitation center of the hospital. The contruction and furnishing of the house were completed in May, and children began to appear there in June. See photographs of their life in this new "home" here and here.
The official opening ceremony will take place in September.

The total amount of financial assistance transferred to the Russian Children's Clinical Hospital through our foundation in the first quarter of 2009 is 7,586,612.94 roubles (about $220,000).

On October 4, 2008, a team of young volunteers from the Russian office of Microsoft worked at the territory of the future rehabilitation center for orphan patients.

A report on the work of the Regional Public Charity Foundation for Seriously ill and Abandoned Children in 2008 has been published. The total volume of help provided to the hospital patients through our foundation in 2008 exceeded 55.8 million roubles.

On June 19, 2008, our Foundation has received an official letter from Dr. A.V. Myzin, Head of the Department of Endoscopic Surgery. He thanks us for helping in purchase of equipment and instruments in 2006-2008.

 

In September 2008, the first graduates of the "School of hospital clowns" started their regular work in twenty departments of our hospital.

On June 18 and 19, 2008, a visiting team of hospital physicians visited Shuya (Ivanovo region) within the framework of the You Are Not Alone program. A total of 144 children with disabilities were examined, and 9 were directed for admission to the Russian Children's Clinical Hospital.

On April 16 and 17, 2008, a team of hospital physicians visited Smolensk within the You Are Not Alone program to examine children from orphanages of this city. A total of 110 children were examined.
