Medications

Our Foundation helps in purchase of medications and consumables that are lacking at the hospital and supplies all hospital departments with them if necessary. The most significant sums are usually spent to help the Departments of Oncology, Oncohematology, Marrow Transplantation, Abdominal Surgery, Psychoneurology, Clinical Immunology, Microvascular Surgery, and Maxillofacial Surgery.
The situation with supply of medications to the hospital was much better in 2007 than in the previous years. Therefore, recently we centered our efforts mostly on purchase of expensive equipment, consumables and instruments.

In 2006, the following sums were paid for medications ordered by hospital departments:

• A total of 9,087,666.75 roubles (about $365,000) was transferred from the account of our Foundation.
• Also, 981,771 roubles (about $40,000), 23,269 euro, and $14,200 was directly paid by private persons and organizations.

In 2007, a total of 7,140,000 roubles (about $286,000) was spent on buying medications for oncological and oncohematological departments. The total sum spent by the foundation on purchase of medications was 8,737,000 roubles ($350,000). In addition, some of our regular sponsors directly paid 2,142,000 roubles ($86,000) for supply of some drugs to the hospital.
